Wiimmfi - Disconnected right before countdown

Every time I try to race online I get disconnected right before the countdown.

Hopefully I put this thread in the right place since i'm using a New 3DS loading TWLoader playing a Wiimmfi patched Mario Kart DS rom.

Also using Android phone's WEP hotspot.

EDIT: Turns out that the guy I was trying to race with was having connection issues. I was able to race someone else with no problems.
